CHLOREXIDINE

• The anti-plaque activity is carried out both by contrasting the development of bacteria and by binding to the matrix of the plaque, preventing its development and breaking it down.

• It forms a protective film on the gums helping, with a mechanical action, to relieve the symptoms caused by irritation of the oral mucosa and to prevent the formation and deposition of plaque.

• It is a natural polymer which carries out a prolonged balancing action of tissue fluids and promotes tissue healing and repair as it prevents the loss of hyaluronic acid from the tissues. It is not absorbed by the mucosa and does not have local or systemic pharmacological effects.

• The external coloring of the teeth is a possible consequence of a prolonged use of products containing chlorhexidine. The ADSR system contained in mouthwashes interferes with two of the main mechanisms of pigmentation and helps to decrease their incidence and extent.

• Rinse for at least one minute using a spoonful of undiluted product (10 ml) after normal oral hygiene. 
• It is advisable to avoid eating, drinking, smoking and rinsing the mouth for at least half an hour after rinsing.
